Bridging Theory and Innovation: How CUHK Business Experts Inspired our S4 and S5 Economists
Date: 07/07/2026
On 7th July 2026, our campus became a vibrant hub of academic exploration as 90 S4 and 55 S5 Economics students welcomed esteemed guest speakers from the CUHK Business Academy for Secondary Schools. Dr. Gentiana Cheung and Dr. Anson Au Yeung facilitated two specialized mini-lectures designed to push the boundaries of the standard secondary curriculum. Our S4 cohort delved into the world of “Design Thinking: Creating Experiences That Matter” while our S5 students examined the complex technology behind Bitcoin. The atmosphere was electric as students grappled with professional-level concepts, transforming the classroom into a dynamic forum for future business leaders and innovators to challenge their existing perspectives.
These high-level exchanges did more than just impart knowledge; they served as a vital platform for refining diverse generic skills and broadening students’ global horizons. Through the lens of design thinking, S4 students discovered how empathy is a critical driver for innovation, enabling them to design solutions that truly resonate with genuine human needs. Simultaneously, the exploration of blockchain technology allowed S5 students to enhance their financial education, building the financial capability and critical foresight necessary to navigate the complexities of the modern digital economy.
By seamlessly connecting theoretical principles to tangible, real-life scenarios, the event empowered our students to apply their classroom learning to the global market, significantly heightening their interest in Economics while preparing them to overcome future challenges with confidence.
