S6 OLE Lessons - Fair Trade Simulation Activities organised by Fair Trade Hong Kong

To enhance students’ social awareness, two fair trade simulation activities were held in S6 OLE lessons. A group of students joined the Orange Game which required students to role-play orange farmers who joined the fair trade cooperatives. Another group of students joined the Sweat Factory Activity which required students to role-play smartphone factory workers. All participants experienced challenges and difficulties faced by the real farmers in developing countries. The activities enhanced students’ knowledge of fair trade and understanding of how fair trade cooperatives empower farmers in developing countries.
