Professional Staff Development

Aims

Our school believes that teachers are always the key to success in all education reforms. Through the adoption of a learner-centred approach, the role of teachers has changed from being merely knowledge transmitter to coordinators, facilitators and learning experience designers. Teacher professionalism will enhance the capacity of the school and benefit student learning in the long run.

Programme highlights

  • The school has successfully applied for a school-based QEF programme to enhance the leadership qualities of middle managers.
  • The “New Teacher Orientation Day’’ is regularly held to offer support and guidance to new teachers.
  • To further enhance school effectiveness and provide high-quality education, the staff development team invites different speakers to give talks for our teachers; different school visits are arranged to promote teacher’s professional development and build professional learning communities in the long run. On the other hand, other workshops like “Team building”, “Legal Matters in Education” and “How to cope with pressure” were also organised.
  • Target training workshops like “Role of Middle Managers’’, “Effective teaching in Liberal Studies’’, "Coding Workshop for STEM teachers" and “Chinese Choral speaking’’ have been conducted to cater for different departmental needs. Moving towards a learning profession is our mission.
