Excellence on the Field and in the Pool: Three Rising Stars Honoured at the 2025-26 Laurel School Awards

On 13th July 2026, three of our outstanding student-athletes were honoured at the Jockey Club Student Athlete Recognition Scheme – The Laurel School Award 2025-26. This prestigious scheme recognises student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional all-round performance in sports. This year, Lai Long Hei Ron (4D), Luk Tsz Yin (1D), and Cheng Yuen Ki (1B) were each awarded the coveted title of Rising Star Athlete. Lai Long Hei Ron secured an impressive second-place finish in the B Grade Inter-school Badminton Competition (D2), while Luk Tsz Yin clinched the C Grade championship title in the Inter-school Cross Country Competition (D2). In the pool, Cheng Yuen Ki dominated her events, capturing gold in both the 50m and 100m freestyle at the Inter-school Swimming Competition (D3K1).
Beyond their medals and trophies, these accolades celebrate the immense dedication, resilience, and discipline these athletes bring to their daily training. Whether pushing personal boundaries in solo endurance events or collaborating with teammates, these three Rising Stars have shown outstanding character. By successfully balancing rigorous training schedules with their academic lives, they serve as inspiring role models for their peers, proving that consistent effort and a steadfast commitment are the true keys to success.
