Soaring to the Finals: Hoi Ping’s Young Scientists Shine Bright at PolyU SCIENCE Competition 2026

Date: 17/01/2026

We are thrilled to announce that a team of our S5 students has successfully advanced to the finals of the PolyU SCIENCE Young Talents Competition 2026, organized by the Faculty of Science at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from January to March 2026.

The Preliminary Round, held on 17th January 2026, at the PolyU campus, saw enthusiastic participation from 183 top secondary schools and over 700 students across Hong Kong. Amidst this strong competition, our team’s outstanding performance propelled them into the top 30 finalist schools, marking a remarkable milestone for Hoi Ping. Representing our school are four devoted Secondary 5 students: Cheung Chi Ching Stefani (5D), Cheng Long (5D), Au Tin Ki (5E), and Cheung Chak Ming (5E), who have demonstrated exceptional creativity, scientific curiosity, and teamwork.

On 21st March 2026, the team will once again head to PolyU to engage in a full day of intensive scientific challenges in world-class laboratories. Their journey has already inspired great excitement and pride across our entire school community, with teachers, classmates, and alumni all cheering them on as they prepare for the final round.

We extend our warmest congratulations to our young scientists and sincere gratitude to the teacher advisors, Mr. Wan Kwok Tung, Mr. Au Ming Tak, and Mr. Wong Man Chun, for their expert guidance and encouragement. The entire Hoi Ping family is united in support and confidence, wishing our team every success as they shine brightly in the finals!
